Aint you tired of this? Hey there to all, this is Andrés Hidalgo, from Argentina and i´m writing this ´cos i´m kinda tired of this kind of email chains that comes to my inbox. Aint you tired of getting mails saying: "save the whales of Singapore" or other countries that you never heard for.. aint you tired of "jack got Cancer, you can save him just sending this mail to all your list" Well i am, this kind of chains has only one goal, to get more and more email addresses for the big companies who sell online their products and sometimes the sell our email addresses and data like Yahoo, Amazon and Lycos tryied last week. Each time you copy this mail to all your addresses you copy it too the guy who wrote it, so he gets a looooooong list with names and emails that he can use for commertial porpouses. Dont you think its weird that the guy who wrote this has a mail: jillrobinson@ibm.net . does he works for IBM maybe?? And the ramona@unikey.com.br, is just another webmail like hotmail.. So, after a few months they all get a lot of email addresses to for Marketing campaings etc. If you dont belive me, just try to do it, build a mail saying save the Giant Turttles of the Galapagos bla bla bla. then put an email address so they can send a copy and send it to all your list, soon, you´ll get a lot of email addresses, and mostly because people doesnt use BCC, and they just copy the addresses. If you use BCC and not CC to copy addresses no one will know what addies are copied so they´ll just get the names in the unusefull list. There are a lot of "real" problems that we dont care about and we dont send anymail or do anything about it. The Ozone Hole, here in Argentina, the ski resorts makes new trails where the trees were before and no one sends an email about it. dosetic airports near ski resorts makes a lot of noise and disturb the peace of the animals that live in the mountains in the winter, we care about the Bears in China? and what about the poor poeple of that country? Have you ever visited a comunist country? I did and it sucks. And what about the tribal wars in Africa?, we dont care shit about it and we race the Paris Dakar race. there are a lot of real troubles in the world to take care about this shit of bears in Asia made by a guy who will send the new PC IBM Model who no one care about and asked for it. I guess we all used our personal email address here, its like to publish our mobil phone number..i dont know you but.i dont like the idea.. Well thats all. Take Care you all, Andrés Andrés Hidalgo andres@thelodge.com.ar www.TheLodge.com.ar ----- Original Message ----- From: "megs pischke" To: ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; ; Sent: Thursday, September 07, 2000 1:37 AM Subject: Fwd: FW: bear abuse in China > > > > >From: "roberta rodger" > >To: BENSTM@aol.com, canonball27@hotmail.com, andrew@abstrakt.org, > >gtv26@hotmail.com, megsprinkle@hotmail.com, chevanson@canada.com, > >g-muirhead@mailcity.com, s_steinbeck8@hotmail.com, kierstenh@sugoi.ca, > >careysr@hotmail.com > >Subject: Fwd: FW: bear abuse in China > >Date: Thu, 07 Sep 2000 01:17:43 GMT > > > > > > > > > >>From: Cory Grove > >>To: Rudy Rucker , Amber Morgan , > >> Leah Jones , nikita , > >> Raberta Rodger , tina basich > >>, , barbara zurek > >>, jaqie berg > >>Subject: FW: bear abuse in China > >>Date: Tue, 05 Sep 2000 12:22:46 -0800 > >> > >> > >> > >>---------- > >>From: Rebecca Herath > >>Date: Tue, 5 Sep 2000 11:46:06 -0700 > >>Subject: bear abuse in China > >> > >>This is really disturbing, sorry but we need to do something if only sign > >>our name on a petition.
